Great peaceful place to grab a bite. A little hidden but really rather convenient near moscone center. Soup and sandwich combo is great. Try the pickle plate too.

Nice scene for jewish food. The food was amazing. The staff was sociable and attentive. They have so many great reviews for a reason.

OMG so delicious! Hot pastrami sandwich on rye is to die for! Good thing they don't have a shop closer to my home. I'd be there for lunch every day. Γ°ΕΈΛœβ€Ή Γ°ΕΈΒ₯Βͺ

Mazto ball soup and pastrami on rye probably the best I ever had. Actually, I had never had matzo ball soup before but, damn, it was delicious. Dining is outside only. Bring a jacket, it's San Francisco so always cold and windy.

Love the matzo ball soup!! The best in the city.I always eat the corned beef sandwich. But next time, I may try the pastrami. Get the potato salad. It's creamy and delicious.

Nice that they offer something less run of the mill in the form of pastrami smoked salmon and onion bialys (baked only, not boiled; tastes more like bread). I think I prefer bagels. Here they are very dense which I like. Also tried matzo ball soup for the first time so can't speak to its authenticity or quality, but it wasn't really for me. Their reubens looked good, might be worth a try next time.

I visit this lovely spot from time to time! This is the best place to to have a good dinner. I visit this place routinely. The cooking is just great, the crew is courteous and the cost is fair. I like meeting in this spot over a good supper.

This site is my preferable site. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to that place. everytime I I need a special lunch, this place comes straight to my head. good and all sorts of food and a rich menu.great team, and great spirit. In addition to that, the pay is decent. I recommend this restaurant with great pleasure.

I actually wanted to order everything on the menu but as I was on my own, settled for the Reuben and it didn't disappoint. The pastrami was some of the best I have ever tasted. There's heaps of Jewish groceries available for sale plus bread and bagels. Wish I had a time and a place to eat them as I would have loved to have got some loaves to go. Lots of indoor seating and also outside on the patio. If you sit outside you have to have take out containers though, no crockery allowed!

Good food, nice ambiance for cafeteria style. Had a tasty mushroom pastrami sandwich. I try to go here when I'm in town at least once.

Pastrami was great but there was not enough meat in the sandwiches, my bread came out a bit soggy on the bottom half, matzo ball soup was very very bland. Meh for $30

Super high quality food, SF prices. Corned beef sandwich on delicious bread served with lightly dressed coleslaw is top notch. Pay first, get a number, food is brought out to you. If you want to get anything else you have to get back in line. Bus your own tables. Self serve jug of Hetch Hetchy water available.

Great deli offerings with high quality food like I'd expect in NYC. A bit of a wait at lunchtime, but the outdoor seating area is pleasant and the sandwich is worth it. Highly recommend the pastrami sandwich with Russian dressing and cole slaw, as well as a potato latke and celery soda.

The pastrami is super delicious. It's pretty fatty, but probably that's what make it so awesome. The bread is great. You can just grab a sandwich to go and sit on a square nearby or in the park. The sandwiches are not cheap - as far as I remember around 13 USD.

Normally nothing to complain about, but they forgot to make the pastrami crispy (after ordering it that way) the last time we went.

The entrance to this restaurant is the same as the museum entrance. You have to go through security (so have your bags ready to be checked, and you'll go through a metal detector) but you do not have to pay admission to the museum. The food was extremely good, and I do recommend the authentic fried bagels (but get them in the morning when they are fresh). I had the Oriental chicken salad, which was a great value.

Wise Sons never disappoints. As a native New Yorker, I love a good Jewish deli and wise sons is delicious in San Francisco! This one is in a pretty good location, close to the park and to the mall. The place is well staffed since it serves the museum (you donÒ€ℒt need to go to the museum though to go to the deli). The sandwiches do seem a little overpriced, but theyÒ€ℒre super tasty. I got a potato latke for $4, which was a good snack, so I recommend that!

Weird fact: The place is inside the museum, so it is behind the security checkpoint. Getting though a metal detector and all that to get a drink and a snack was a first, but the security guy was very friendly so the experience was not unpleasant at all. Food was great, so all is cool.

Not sure what the fuss is. Corned beef was bland. Matzah ball soup was worse. Mostly flavorless, but with hints of dishwater.

Maybe it's a SF thing, but the bread had too much bird food and not enough rye. The corned beef was pretty good though and saved this "classic". I'm not sure I'll be able to talk myself into paying for it again though.

What an amazing place. The pastrami ruben is to die for, such amazing, flavorful meat. Whenever I'm in town this is my go to sandwich. And if you're looking for bagels, go no further. The smoked salmon open face is bang on as well, with tasty, perfectly whipped schmear. You will never regret getting something from here, guaranteed.

Nice spot within the museum. No Museum entry fee needed to eat here. Nice folks work here. The customer service was great. Kind of noisy with high ceilings, but food was amazing!!! Wish I could have tried every dish. We will be back again. Thank you for a great experience.

They have the 2nd best pastrami I've ever eaten. I got the half sandwich and half soup. It was more like big bowl of soup with a half sandwich, so much that I couldn't finish the soup. That broth in that soup was rich and flavorful. There's outdoor seating and indoor which you need to go in through the museum to get to. We went on a Wednesday and the museum was closed.

Overrated, low quality pastrami. I tried every pastrami in town and so far TommyÒ€ℒs Joynt has been by far the best. Wise Sons pastrami was small portion, and coldish. It was also too thin. I like the thick cuts as they carry more juice, and you taste the meat better. Same goes for their Rueben. Go for Tommy Joynt you wont be disappointed.

I was torn between 3 & 4 stars for this branch of Wise Sons. It's the only one I've been to and its location in the lobby of the Jewish Museum has me wondering if the menu is small because of where it is, or general expedience. The Matzo Ball soup & half sandwich combo is a decent deal. You can pick from turkey, chicken liver, pastrami, etc...I always eat chicken liver sandwiches whether I'm at Katz's, Langer's, or anywhere in between...Wise has a decent sandwich. It's on the small side. The soup is good - it's a hybrid mish mosh with one large matzo ball and noodles...a nice, clear broth. I prefer a true mish mosh with kreplach and rice as well. The dining area is small, somewhat spartan, and was a little disheveled on my visit. You're supposed to bus your own table here...not everyone got the memo.

Feeds the need for a Jewish deli but their matzo ball soup is just okay. Bay Area definitely needs more Jewish delis, so appreciate that they are there. But LA and NYC delis better food

Outdoor seating is limited and the lines get super long at lunch, but it's worth it to get some amazing Jewish deli comfort food.

I got the best service here! My card didn't work and I had no cash so had to cancel my order, but I stayed to keep my friend company. A little while later they brought me what I ordered anyway, and said it's on them. Totally made my day :) And the bagel was good too! I've tried the matzo ball soup before, which is great for a light lunch.

Pastrami sandwich, reuben, soup, all yums. Also, they have Mexican coke and other yummy drinks! Inside the Jewish Museum; since it's inside you'll have to go through a quick security check. The restaurant is in a big space with really nice natural lighting. Next to a park-like area and across the street from the mall and movie theater. Also near a lot of other great museums in the area.

Hands down, the best rueben I've had. The meat is so tender and flavorful. I got the pastrami and the corned beef. I think I liked the corned beef better because it had a smoky flavor to it. The potato salad that comes with it is also great! The indoor seating area is super rad, tall ceilings with a track of globes high above. They also have a to-go window. Super impressed and cant wait to come back!
